They did an interstate move for me in summer 2020, and excluding driving time, total load & unload time was maybe 2.5 hours max. (And I have a lot of stuff.) They placed all my boxes and furniture exactly where I wanted, which was much appreciated as I was moving into a 2-story duplex. They even asked if I needed any help with arranging furniture in the living room, etc. Very accommodating, very hardworking, will absolutely use them again when I move next!!

Hemmen moved us from Iowa to Arizona and the experience was extraordinary. Everything went smoothly including moving my wife's piano. No breakage, everything was loaded, delivered and unloaded on schedule. Great moving experience! So glad I called Hemmen Moving for my move from Iowa to Colorado! Very responsive, upfront & kind. Explained very clearly what to expect with a long-distance move. We're very responsive to my needs & offer storage for trips like mine that had time in between moving out & moving in. I looked at a few different places/options for moving companies. I really liked the available storage and only my stuff on the truck (you put the lock on & keep the key till delivery) No worrying about damage or mixed up from being stored or moved with other households. Prices were very competitive/reasonable. Pick up & delivery guys were all very nice, clean & took great care with handling my contents. Nothing damaged! Communication was excellent! 100% would recommend & use again for moving!

Interstate move- picked up on Saturday morning, dropped off Sunday morning. Unloading was quick. Darren is a really nice and knowledgeable guy. Great with communicating and providing updates. Very upfront about costs and fees. Excellent experience. Excellent company.

Do you know who calls and emails you when you start working with this company? "DARREN HEMMEN!"  Not some customer service rep with scripted answers who have never actually physically been involved in moving anyone in their life. If that alone isn't enough to choose this company, they handled communicating with 3 people in our family across 2 states perfectly, didn't damage a thing, everything occurred at the times they promised with the 650-mile move and the lead guy handling our move (the driver) was personable and smart. The crew hustled loading/unloading so the labor cost was perfectly fair. We had a small snag, which turned out to be a non-issue - one of the 3 loaders (contractor, not Hemmen employee) never showed up. The 2 guys were able to finish the job without a problem and we actually saved a little money with 2 men rate and a little longer time.

We contracted Hemmen Moving to move us from Boone to Lincoln, Nebraska, and we were impressed with the whole experience. On the day of loading they arrived on time, but with a bigger trailer than we expected. We were not charged for the added trailer footage. It was also a rainy morning, but the crew worked fast and carefully to keep our furniture and our prepacked boxes dry. Couple days later the foreman and his Lincoln crew delivered on time swiftly and efficiently to our new home. They also navigated through some narrow streets to deliver our piano and snowblower to a daughter in Lincoln. Because they brought freight back to the Ames area, we received a discount on the final bill. They helped relieve some of the stress of moving. We would recommend them for any kind of moving jobs.

​Hemmen Moving & Storage

My first time with prof movers. I had heard many disaster stories! Hemmen Movers were local to Iowa and recommended by Angie's List. References gave good reports. Darren answered my many questions patiently. They were able to combine my trip with another person so that I paid only half the mileage! To get the deal, we had to have our things ready a couple of weeks early, which was inconvenient.  The total price of $2,500 was very reasonable. Great communication with the office and the truck. Matthew, the driver, and companion Aaron were professional, skilled, and great guys. Have not opened the boxes yet, but everything seems intact. Thank you, Hemmen Movers.  We recommend you to everyone.  We would use you again.

Hemmens did a great job of getting a piano move scheduled and stress-free. They called to let us know they were running a bit early and the whole process took them about an hour to load the piano in Ankeny and move it to Ames. They were very careful and made the whole process effortless on our side. I would definitely use their services again in the future.
